Twas the night after Christmas

Twas the night after Christmas and all through the place
The girls money had vanished, without a trace.

They both had new goodies, some makeup and such
music and movies, it's all just too much.

The Xbox is humming, the laughter is grand
and each kid is happy in post-Christmas land.

Brett came to visit, we ate dinner out
This is the best evening, without a doubt.

No work today or for 2 more long days
Naps will be taken, time spent in a haze.

We're short on money, all the year long
but Christmas-time bonus fills our hearts with song.

Our position is still no better or worse
But we have a week before January's curse.

Yes things will be rough for one month or two
But March will feel better, as it tends to do.

We're thankful for family, neighbors and friends
and you can be thankful this poems at it's end.

Writing verse is tricky, isn't it? Glad you survived! And thanks for the cool card.
