Busy as Heck

OK, it's spring busy season at work, so I'm whupped.  Monica is playing softball and things are kinda crazy.  Not bad, just crazy.

Oh, and to four certain people?  This is for you:

Yeah.  I'm better now.

To the rest of you?  Have a wonderful night and an awesome Easter weekend!  I hope you have a 3-day weekend.  (I don't.)  LOL

Happy Days

Kevin started his day shift this week.  He's also currently working 10 hours a day (God bless OT) so he's out the door by 5, and home by 5:30 at night.  It's nice to have him home in the evenings again.  That puts me on morning duty, so I'm not going in as early right now, which suits me fine.

Monica's had early softball practice for a couple of days, so she has to be at the ball fields at 6:15.  I take her (less than a mile from  home) and come home to get Natalie up and around.  It's only the second day in, but it's going smoothly so far.

It's so nice to have the windows open all night, waking up to a cool (but not cold) house.  No warming up cars, no scraping frost/ice, and no miserable muttering when getting out of the car.  It's sunny on my drive home and for a couple of hours after.  It sure does make my mood a lot better.

The coffee is good this morning and I think I'll get to the eye Dr. this afternoon.  Time for new contacts, and I'm sure I need a stronger prescription.  *sigh*  The annoyance of being half blind.  I'd LOVE to have laser vision correction.  Maybe some day.  For now, I'll just be thankful for contacts.

Spring

It's kinda hot in the house this afternoon.  I'm beaming from the inside out just typing that.

What a long, torturous winter.  Seemed like we had NO breaks in the crappy weather.

I'm happy.  Oh, and we need to mow the yard!  YEAH!  I love mowing the yard.

All for Nothing

Went to the Dr on Friday, and he spent way more time with me than I expected.  He said that I need to be walking on it, and not to wrap it unless it swells too much.  He also said that it could be as far as the 4th of July before I'm 100%.  Great.  LOL  I can tell I'm a bit better every day, so I am on the mend.

Saturday, we bought a gazebo that was a really good deal.  We spent about 3 hours and still didn't have it together, but it was getting close.  Sunday morning, Kevin and his mom left for a Royals game, and the girls and I decided to go finish the gazebo.

It was hard, but we did it.  Our arms were sore from tightening bolts over our heads, but we felt good that it was done.  Dad made some strong anchors out of rebar, since the stakes that it came with were wimpy.  We anchored it with the new anchors, since it was a REAL windy day, and then ran a quick errand.

When we got home, the gazebo was a wadded up mass of metal.  Totally ruined.  Mangled and destroyed. If it hadn't been for our fence, which caught it, it would have been in the highway, causing accidents.  I wanted to cry, but knew that there was work to do.  Natalie and I spent another couple of hours taking it apart into pieces of a manageable size.  What depressing work!

So, I didn't even own it for 24 hours.  I've wanted it for a long time, worked my butt off on it, and never got to relax in it.  I should have known.  Living on top of this hill means CONSTANT wind.  Oh well.  Live and learn.  I just wish I had something to show for these sore muscles!
