Dear fellow commuters,
I need to let you know that you are not, I repeat NOT the only person on the road. I know that you are VERY important, and you have VERY important things to do. This could lead you to believe that you are the only person that matters.
I assure you, my friend, you are not.
I won't mention hanging in the left lane, since I covered that last week. Let's talk cell phones. Sure, I talk on my phone while I'm driving. I have a bluetooth headset, though, so my hands and eyes are not involved in the conversation.
Most phones now come with a headset, use it. It doesn't have to be wireless. Don't have one? Let me know what type phone you have, I can probably hook you up. Seriously.
When backing out of a parking space, you need to understand that there are at least 20 other cars in the lot, all wanting to get somewhere. If you are slowly backing out, while still buckling your seatbelt and checking your makeup in the mirror, you're keeping us from our destination. Do NOT back out until you're ready to DRIVE.
In closing, please keep in mind that there are thousands of us out there. We are paying attention and driving carefully and trying to get to work/home/the store. Please give us the courtesy of WAKING UP and PAYING ATTENTION.
Warmest regards,
