Self Portrait

And here we are.  The final day of the 30 Day Photo Challenge.  I've struggled with it a lot of nights, but managed to make it happen.  I'm glad it's over, but not sorry I did it.  I'll try to be better about posting, now that I've got 30 days worth of habit to build on.

The final word was Self Portrait:
Yup.  I sneaked this one while shooting an image for "light."  That was yesterdays post.  Yup, I'm a cheater.

Light

Today was an amazing day.  It got *almost* warm enough for even me, and some friends met us at Mom and Dad's for some shooting.  Then it was back to our house for bar food and stupid stuff on TV.  Yup, a good day.  It makes me thankful for the most important source of light:
Goodnight, sunshine.  Thanks for coming to play today.

Nighttime

I wasn't sure what I was going to type about "nighttime" for the 30 Day Photo Challenge, until I realized how happy it makes me to see Kami running around in her PJs before bed.  Sometimes, she even wears my slippers!

Routine

Nothing about my job is "routine," but here is what I see for 90% of my day:

Transportation

OK, mother!  Here is my 30 Day Photo Challenge post.  I'm too wiped out to do it properly, and I had some ideas, but they all fell flat.  I'll just post a picture of my baby.  The Smokin' Hot Neon.  If it wasn't for the SHN, I'd be unemployed.

Artwork

The 30 Day Photo Challenge keeps getting tougher for me.  Today's word is "artwork," and I am no artist.  I don't have an "eye for art" and I don't have that artistic side.  I thought about posting some of my children's artwork from school days of old, but then I sat back and asked myself, "What is artwork in YOUR world?"
My dad took a rust bucket and turned it into artwork, in my opinion.  It amazes me.  Rust to beauty.

Gratitude

Let's keep this short, because I am tired and it's an amazingly busy week for me.  I have no image to show "gratitude," but the point is to post, and I'm posting.  I am very grateful for many things in my life:
Kevin
Jon
Brett
Monica
Natalie
My home
My family
Kevin's family
No car payments
A steady paycheck
A husband with a steady paycheck
Good TV
Laughs
Love
Friends
Good food
A warm bed
My dogs
Cold beer
Warm pizza

Time to stop.  But I COULD go on.

Closet

OK, 30 Day Photo Challenge, you've thrown down the gauntlet.  (is that a real phrase?)  First, you ask to see my clothes, which was bad enough.  Now?  Now you want to see my closet?  OK, fine.  Ready?

Ain't Happenin'.

It's a mess, even worse than my room, and I am just refusing.  I'm a rebel like that.

Clothes

Seriously, 30 Day Photo Challenge?  Clothes?  You couldn't have picked a topic that I care less about.  A challenge is a challenge, though, so here goes.
My clothing of choice tonight:
This headless version of me displays my wonderful wardrobe of choice for most evenings.  A long-sleeve Tshirt from work (free to me,) a $1 Tshirt from Walmart (2010) and some sweats that have been around for more than 6 years.  Oh, and socks.  I'm am one stylish chick, don't you think?

Saturday, February 11, 2012

Thanks to the 30 Day Photo Challenge, I must air some dirty laundry, as it were.  "Where You Sleep."  Seriously?  I thought about making my bed, picking up in there, dusting a bit, and taking a photo that I wouldn't be ashamed of.  And then I saw Monica's new Facebook profile picture today.  She took it in the mirror in my room.  *sigh*  Now everyone knows.
Unmade bed, makeup all over the dresser, stuff piled on the furniture.  Yeah.  Don't stop by my house unannounced unless you're comfortable with clutter.

Seasonal

We've had an unseasonably warm winter.  This weekend?  Not so much.  How appropriate that the 30 Day Photo Challenge word is "seasonal."  What do I do when it's cold?
Electric throw, computer, headphones, hoodie and hilarious videos online.  Yup.  THAT is seasonal.

My Best Friend

The 30 Day Photo Challenge wants my best friend.  Umm, OK.  This poses 2 possible answers.
This apparent lush (she's not, but I made sure that she looked like one) is my BFF.  It is one of those things where I feel like I've known her from childhood.  Separated at birth.  We laugh non-stop the entire time we're together.  Chica gets me.  We only get to see her a few times a year, and I cherish those times.  It hurts me when our visit is over.
This dude is my other best friend.  He puts up with me like nobody else on earth could ever do.  He knows my oddities and loves me anyway.  He was even kind as we drove away from my other BFF after last year's gathering in Texas, and I was bawling like a baby.  Radar was crying about being separated from his mother for the first time in his 4-months on earth, and I was crying about being separated from Brooke, and Kevin just drove.  He let us have our tears.

He drove our sorry asses all the way back to Missouri, and kept all of his man-thoughts ("What the hell is WRONG with them?") to himself.  I love ya, man.

Something New

The 30 Day Photo Challenge said, "Something New."  I got your NEW right here!

This is Daniel.  Literally on his birthday.  Too cute for words.

Memories

The 30 Day Photo Challenge asked me to show memories.  I am a grandma twice, and that will become three times in August.  This is the first time I saw my first grandbaby with my own eyes.

Animals

The 30 Day Photo Challenge today is all about animals.  Since today is Radar's birthday, I thought I'd choose him.  First, here he is as a pup (yes, my friend Brooke wrote my name on him so I'd know which one was mine.)
And now, he looks more like his mama, and tends to pass out pretty hard in the evening.

Technology

When I started the 30 day photo challenge, I had no idea that "technology" would fall on Super Bowl Sunday!  Can you imagine the technology that goes into this one football game?  Broadcast in over 100 countries, it boggles the mind to think about what goes into it.  What technology is involved in the game at my house?

An audio receiver, a DirecTV receiver, several speakers, and a spaghetti-like mass of cords that most civilized people would organize.  All of this makes my TV entertain me.  I don't know how it works, but it makes me happy.

Movement

I wish I had a picture that actually showed the movement going on here, but you'll have to trust me.  There was a LOT of movement going on.  For the 30 Day Photo Challenge:

Written Words

This house is in turmoil over the plastic/satan guest.  Meanwhile, I have to keep up the 30 Day Photo Challenge, so here is written words.  The instructions for the plastic satan:

My View Today

Wow.  I've been challenged to another, uhhh, challenge.  It's another Photo Challenge.  I may do both, I may quit and do neither, or I may be sporadic, but my blog has had more attention from me in the last week or so than it's had in months.

Day one of this challenge is "My View Today."  My view?  Tonight?  Not pretty.  I was doing our tax return.  How about my view on a harvest-season drive home? (Yup.  I'm already breaking the rules of this one.  There may be no hope for me. Here ya go:
Slow traffic, anyone?
