I Love Weekends!

I know I haven't posted for a long time.  I'm getting nagged about it, too.  It's been kinda crazy, though.

I took a trip to Texas for my birthday.  It's something I wouldn't have done on my own, but Brooke decided she'd take matters into her own hands and fly me down there.  I left after work on Wednesday and spent 4 glorious days in the warm sun.  I got to see David and Susie's river place, which is where the annual party (a gathering of our message board friends) will be this year.  It's beautiful there.

I left the 80º temps to board a plane at 6 in the morning and land in Kansas City where it was snowing and 30º.  Got to the airport to find a flat on the truck.  Talk about a rude welcome home.  Worked this week and made it to the weekend.  It's going to be a GREAT weekend, too!

In about 30 minutes, I'm going to get Dad, and we'll go pick up my car.  At last!  Dad's been awesome to let us use his truck for two weeks.  If not for that, I don't know what we would have done.  It's also made us thankful for good fuel mileage.  Dad's four wheel drive chugs gas like Charlie Sheen chugs...oh, sorry.  Anyway, I'm getting it back and I can't wait!

Tonight, Jonathan is coming to spend some time with his Dad.  I'm excited about that, too.  We'll have Brett and Kami come over to visit with him, and Kevin will take him shooting at Dad's place.  They are a couple of gun nuts, for sure.  Mom's agreed to make potato soup tomorrow.  Jon wanted potato soup, so I said, "No problem!"  Then he said, "Like grandma Wood makes?"  Oh.  Umm.  I can make the soup, but I can NOT make it like mom does.  LOL

OK, it's almost time.  Gotta go get my ride!  The guy said that the timing was just a touch off, too.  Not only does that explain the idle, which I thought was just part of the car's personality (LOL, I'm an idiot) but my mileage should get even better, I think.  I get an average of 35 mpg now.  It's a happy day!

Hope your weekend is really great, even with this rain.

Glad you had a great trip and got your car back! Wow, did you know you only blogged half as much in 2010 as you did in 2009? As I'm typing this, I just noticed the numbers in the blog archive. I'm silly and probably just need to go to bed. lol
