That is the most common type of breast cancer. It is the type that, as I found out via phone call at 4:45 this evening, I have. I will see a surgeon on Thursday and know more. For now, we are freaking out, making inappropriate jokes, freaking out, informing the family (which is something you do when someone dies, so it feels weird and wrong) and freaking out.
Each joke I make is met by "Mom! It's too soon!" so I should probably back off a bit, but it's what I do. I joke. What do you call a.....never mind. It's too soon.

A sense of humor will get you through a lot of stuff. Keep joking.
Praying for you, Hugs.
I'm so sorry. I am also surprised that they told you over the phone. That seems inappropriate. On the other hand, sooner said, fastest mended, or something like that. I hate that you have to wait until Thursday to see your doctor. Bless you and your family.
Cancer is very treatable these days, so stay strong and focused! My husband has(as of today) Stage 4 lung cancer, so we are trying to follow the same advice. Sending you love!
I have an aunt and a cousin who went through the same thing, and both of them have made remarkable recoveries. My thoughts and prayers are certainly with you.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. I have read your Mom's blog for years and saw the news on her blog this morning. Just wanted to let you know that a lot of us will be praying for a successful outcome for you.
Coming to you via your Mom's blog. Do your research - get any second opinions you need. Take time to focus on YOU first. God bless!

Here via your mom's blog also. Sometimes laughter is the only thing that keeps us sane (depending on the other person's perspective, of course). =)
I'll keep you in thought and prayer and in the meantime, I'd keep right on cracking those jokes.
There is nothing that I can say that will make you feel better or less scared, so all I'm going to say is this..... "That sucks!"
Came over from your mom's site as well to tell you that I am praying for you and your family. Wendy
Oh Rachel. Please keep us posted. You will be in my prayers daily. Here for you.
Keeping you in my prayers.
